Homecoming exhibit: Conner Museum Has Teeth!
Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009
PULLMAN - Elephants, alligators, horses and cougars … check out our collection of cuspids, fangs and incisors in this special exhibit honoring internationally renowned orthodontist and our 2009 Regents Distinguished Alumnus, Dwight Damon.
2-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Conner Museum, located on the first floor of Abelson Hall.
Visitors will:
- Huge elephant molars in comparison to specialized herbivore teeth, carnivore teeth -- including coyotes and wolves -- and reptiles.
- Discover animals that have lost teeth over time and how they take their food.
- See shrews and other creatures that load iron into their teeth, providing extra strength to enamels and producing orange “smiles.”

Teeth problems in nature and how they affect rodents and horses.
